∆P
flute and live electronics
6’
May 2020
∆P (Delta P) explores the alteration of flute timbre using electronic means. Delta P, is a way of referring to a pressure differential between two systems. In this work, the timbral content of both the acoustic flute sound, and the sonic world of the electronic sound create tension. The resultant ‘pressure differential’ encourages the audience to question the boundary of electronic and acoustic sound, the processed and the unprocessed, and the human and the machine.
